Casting to Roku

Casting from your Windows laptop/PC or Mac to a Roku device connected to your TV is possible, dependent on your software and the model of your Roku device.

Casting to a Roku device (for Windows laptop/PC)

You can cast from a PC laptop to a Roku device, provided your PC is running Windows 10 and has the Miracast software enabled.

  1. Switch your TV AUX or EXT (or equivalent) setting to the corresponding HDMI port where your Roku is connected.
  2. Click on the Home button on your Roku remote and select Settings from the list of options on the left.
  3. Select Screen mirroring to enable the option.
  4. Back on your PC, click the Start or ‘Windows’ button.
  5. From the menu that opens, click Connect.
  6. You should now be able to see a list of all wireless displays and audio devices you have in your vicinity.
  7. Click on your Roku device and your PC will now be able to cast to it.
  8. Find the film you want to view in BAFTA View, and click ‘WATCH’. The video should now cast to your TV.

Casting to a Roku device (for Mac)

You can also now cast from a Macbook to a Roku device, provided it is one of the new 4K Roku models (or later).

  1. Switch your TV AUX or EXT (or equivalent) setting to the corresponding HDMI port where your Roku device is connected.
  2. Press the Home button on your Roku remote.
  3. Select Settings, and go to Apple AirPlay and HomeKit.
  4. Click OK to complete the set-up.
  5. Your Roku is now ready to receive AirPlay.
  6. Back on your Mac, once you have selected the video you want to view, click WATCH.
  7. Click on the AirPlay video icon at the top of your screen to find your Roku device.

8. Click on the Roku device from the dropdown, and the video will cast to your TV.
